New Feature: Activity History

We’re excited to introduce Activity History, a new way to keep track of changes made on your SimplePay account. If you’ve ever wondered when a setting was updated, who made the change, or what the previous value was, Activity History lets you trace changes to a record and see how it reached its current state.

How it works

To view a record’s activity history, open the relevant item in SimplePay and click History at the bottom of the screen.

Each entry shows the date and time of the change, the user who made it, the field that was changed, and its old and new values. Changes are listed from newest to oldest, making it easy to work backwards through a record’s history.

If a record has more changes than the pop-up can display at once, click Load More to see older entries.

Please note: For some records, Activity History doesn’t include changes made before a specific date. You’ll see a note at the bottom of the pop-up indicating when tracking began.

Activity History is currently available for:

• Pay points
• Job grades
• Custom employee fields

Activity History vs Recent Activity

You may already be familiar with Recent Activity, which shows a short summary of the latest changes to an employee’s information and payslips on their profile. Activity History works differently: it gives a detailed, field-by-field record of changes to a specific record, such as a pay point, including the values before and after each change.

Activity History shows changes to the record itself, such as a pay point’s name. Changes to an employee, such as moving them to a different pay point or updating their value for a custom employee field, still appear under Recent Activity on the employee’s profile.

We’ll be adding Activity History to more types of records over the coming weeks, making it easier to trace changes across your SimplePay account. Keep an eye out for the History option on other records as the feature becomes available in more areas.
