Upcoming PRSI Changes - October 2025

Further changes to PRSI contribution rates, as previously outlined by the Department of Social Protection, are being implemented soon. These updates form part of a broader strategy to support Ireland’s Social Insurance Fund and strengthen benefits for future retirees.

On 1 October 2025, employee and employer PRSI contribution rates will increase by 0.1% across most classes and subclasses. You can find more information on the exact rates here.

These small increases are part of a multi-year plan to gradually raise PRSI rates – helping to fund growing social protection costs, particularly the State Pension. Two further increases of 0.1% are expected in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
